'Twas the week before finals

'Twas the week before finals and all through the school,
students were studying, except those who were too cool.
The tests were all prepped by the teachers with hope,
that everyone was prepared and able to cope.
Students were waiting and huddled in the dorms,
crossing their fingers, for they would soon be filling out graduation forms.
Ah, that exciting time in a collegiate's career
when fun and games are over, and real life is almost here.
Days of formals and house parties will soon be past,
everyone should take advantage and make their memories last.
Tailgating outside the stadium of Paul Snow
Always having a good time but never enough dough.
The late-night food runs and the early morning class
For some, the hopes that they would just pass.
Ladies' Night at Brothers or even the Rusty Nail
But if you're drinking, no driving - or else you'll go to jail.
Of course, for those who are not ready to leave college,
grad school is an option to obtain much more knowledge.
The classes are more difficult; yes, this is true.
But it puts off, for a while, saying adieu.
There are those students who cannot wait to get out,
and they know where they are going, of that there is no doubt.
They have a job in their major, with benefits galore.
With good reason, they cannot wait to get their foot in the door.
For all of the graduates, those staying and those going,
we wish you luck in your experience of growing.
Although we will miss you, we would like to say:
Congratulations to all, it is finally your day!
